Developing a well rounded skill set is important in a sport like MMA or for confidence and self defence, known for having heavy hands Aaron Chalmers showed a more complete game at Bellator London. His opponent Fred Freeman came into the fight with 2 wins and 2 losses on his record with an awkward style exaggerated by his southpaw stance. Chalmers showed a maturity in his fight developed in the gym through fight simulation rounds with the likes of Cage Warriors stand out Adam Proctor, Pro MMA fighter and amateur champions Davie Mclaughlin & Mitch Dobbins alongside amateur prospect Will Brown. During the contest much of it fought against the cage and with Aaron in top position, “The Joker” showed an understanding of wrestling and control that he’d not demonstrated during his previous fights with many in attendance including UFC and Bellator MMA veterans and coaches saying he looked a much improved fighter.
Prior to the fight Chalmers asked Coach Alex Enlund what if I sub him, to which he was told he could have his first stripe on his BJJ White Belt. A promise that will have to be kept as it was shared post fight by Aaron live on Channel 5

This submission win by him was extremely impressive. I think that he is one of the more technical players on the entire roster. He is pretty good when it comes to using his hands, and that is what most competitors have no idea about. If they do manage to do some things that they can do, then that is when they can make a lot of new things for themselves, I hope that it all works out for them in the future.
